We were thrilled to welcome over 300 parents to our Teenage Years event in Tunbridge Wells. The evening was an opportunity to hear practical strategies to build positive relationships with our teenagers. It provided an understand of the neuroscience behind the teenage brain and how it determines behaviour and emotions. We had a wonderful response to the event, parents appreciated the evening, feedback was incredibly positive.
Fegans’ carried out a survey before the event about the concerns of parents of teenagers, and what topics they hoped would be covered. Out of those surveyed a large number, 39%, stated their relationship with their teen as their main concern. Self esteem was the second biggest concern at 21%, and technology is a big worry, with 20% concerned about excessive screen time, and 12% online safety.
We had some great feedback from the event itself:
“So honest – really helpful advice looking forward to launching in the area of teens, many thanks”
“Very interesting and a very personal and open mood to the messages.”
If you are interested in the Teenage Years, but didn’t manage to make this event Fegans are holding another on 19th April at Bennett Memorial school, and on 17th May in Reigate. Details can be found on the Fegans website here.
