About us

Fegans is a 146-year-old Christian charity that has continually delivered care to children and families according to the needs of each succeeding generation.

Today, we counsel children and provide parent support, intervention and training. Combining these disciplines gives Fegans the opportunity to work with families holistically…counselling the child, supporting the parent.

Our preschool, Buttons, does this intentionally as a preventative measure but also to serve the most vulnerable… when they are most vulnerable.

Our aim is to provide families most in need of parenting or therapeutic support with the care they require to become self-sufficient contributors to society and therefore break generational cycles of behaviour.

Our Passion

Motivated by Christian Faith, Fegans aims to support holistically as many children and families as possible through counselling and parent support, in a way that is:

– Client and supporter centred
– Guided by reasoned growth
– Financially sustainable
– Demonstrating a culture of grace and integrity

Fegans provides a full range of professional counselling services in our centres and also in primary and secondary schools throughout London and the South East. Our BACP registered counsellors are all fully qualified and work with parents and children to enable them to manage their lives, build relationships and make positive choices.

Fegans are commissioned by Early Help, Local Authorities and Schools to undertake three main forms of parent support

  • Evidence-based parenting programs to vulnerable families

  • Emergency intervention (i.e Adoption breakdown, high end need)

  • Targeted community-based programs

Strive for Excellence

Both counsellors and parent support workers are encouraged to refer to each other when needed to provide holistic care and support for vulnerable families.

Fegans delivery model is repeatable, scaleable and extremely cost effective. Our impact measures are extremely high and every single practitioner is fully qualified for their role. Our governance is excellence and safeguarding is robust.

However our survival depends on growth as our core governance and clinical practice costs can only be offset by large volumes of practitioners.

Therefore we are looking for opportunities to meet people who are interested in how many of the children’s mental health issues facing our communities today can be addressed safely, competently, quickly and efficiently from a financial point of view. This could be Public Health Directors or a Health Minister looking for innovation in this area that is delivered from within our communities. Although we are based in the South East our hub-based model enables us to grow anywhere and plant into any community smoothly and with ease.

Together we can transform our nation.
