As a charity we are always thankful for support in what we do from various communities, and we are lucky to be able to count the Notcutts Garden Centre in Tunbridge Wells as one of our proud supporters.
The Manager of the Tunbridge Wells branch, Anne O’Hare (pictured) explains: “Notcutts as a business decided that when our end of line products, such as seeds or bulbs, aren’t needed anymore, we should donate them to local schools and charities, and of course this is all seasonal, so the product varies.”
At Fegans’ seeds are sold in reception for a donation, so if you are in our Tunbridge Wells centre, do pick up a treat for your garden, or a green fingered friend. This is a great time, if like many, your garden has been somewhat neglected over the winter months, or you are in the process of looking to make seasonal changes, little purchases can make all the difference.
Anne’s Spring Tips:
- Get out there and see what has survived the winter months. Clean up any winter debris such as old leaves and dead wood.
- Right now it’s a great time to feed the soil, use compost from your garden, or you can buy products in garden centres.
- Spring months are the point to start planting things like roses and shrubs, the soil is warm enough now for those to start growing, but it’s not too hot, so you don’t have to do anything too laborious like lots of watering etc.
- With bedding plants you might want to look at planting primroses and pansies for colour, it will soon be time for summer plants, but really that doesn’t start until May.
