Chris Willoughby: Working Effectively with Shame
Phil Mollen says shame is ‘in the terrible hopeless absence when human connection fails’. In this workshop we will consider:
- What is shame?
- How does it affect the therapeutic relationship?
- Is shame ever helpful?, and
- How can we work so we do not further shame our clients or ourselves?
Chris Willoughby is a counsellor and supervisor in general and forensic practice, where he specialises in working with adults with a history of sexually harmful behaviour. His approach to training is to value therapeutic diversity and empower us to work authentically and confidently regardless of model of theory and practice.
*Please note that any cancellations made less than 14 days before the training day will not be refunded.
