Can you spare some time to help children and families in your area?
There are a variety of voluntary roles available at Fegans to suit a variety of personal skills and experience.
You can make a real difference.
Volunteers have played a key role in the Fegans for nearly 150 years. We continue to welcome and value the contribution volunteers make to the life transforming work of Fegans.
Fegans counselling services are delivered by fully qualified Counsellors so we are unable to accept any offers of frontline support to the children we work with. However, there are other ways volunteers can support our services, either as a Parent Support Volunteer or by offering fundraising and occasional administrative support.
Like all conscientious charities we make every effort to ensure our financial resources work as hard as they can. We commit to essential staff costs but from time to time there are short and long term projects to which volunteers can really make a difference.
Occasionally we have need for administrative support within our offices. If you are interested, then please do get in touch.
We are also very interested in hearing from people who can offer volunteering support within a particular skill set. For example, Communications, HR, Finance or IT.

Fundraising and Networking
As more individuals and groups hear about our life-changing work, they are keen to get involved, support us financially, pray or volunteer for us. Could you help us raise the profile of Fegans charity? We can support you in speaking to a wide variety of audiences, in churches, schools, women’s groups, Rotary, WI, nursery schools …
Fundraising can be fun and in addition to raising vital funds for Fegans also helps to reach new audiences. A raffle or cake sale at your local golf club or WI? Maybe encourage your local school to fundraise for Fegans day? You could even press gang a group of friends to participate in a sponsored event, run, walk, swim, even skydive for Fegans!
Fegans have set up a number of bursary funds supporting our counselling and work with parents. Could you help spread the word about these funds amongst your network and introduce Fegans to potential partners and supporters?
We would love to hear from you. If you would like to find out more please contact Jo Wild at firstname.lastname@example.org
Parent Support Volunteer
Fegans provides 1-1 and group support to parents who are struggling and need a little help to enable them to move forward and enjoy being a Mum or Dad again. Some parents are dealing with children with additional needs, others are dealing with a range of challenges which can prevent them from being the best parent they can be.
Fegans will train new volunteers to work with parents, enabling parents to overcome barriers and issues, develop effective strategies and raise confidence in their parenting skills. Volunteering can sometimes lead to further opportunities in training with Fegans. To find out more about the role of a parent support worker, please read the Parent Support Volunteer Role Description
