The Exhibition16th March - 9th September at Woods Restaurant, Tunbridge Wells
The Remarkable Characters of Tunbridge Wells Exhibition will feature a selection of photographs by Mark Wilkinson celebrating local inspiring characters, from a Gold medal winner to former M16 agent. The exhibition will take place at Woods Restaurant, on the picturesque Georgian promenade of shops and restaurants ‘The Pantiles’.
The exhibition is free to enter, and guests can enjoy a browse, or take in the photography and stories whilst enjoying the all-day menu, tea and cakes, or the famous Woods brunch.
The book ‘The Remarkable Characters of Tunbridge Wells’ is a collection of all 50 characters portraits accompanied by their unique stories. Available at select stockist in Tunbridge Wells, as well as online here, all proceeds from the book will be donated to Fegans, giving us a wonderful opportunity to help more children and families in the South East.
Discover the wonder of all the Remarkable Characters featured, from real life super heroes (we have our own) to tales of Hollywood glamour and ex-spies. The exhibition is a intriguing taste into the full treasure trove of stories that are included in the book, stories that will bring both a tear and a smile. Be inspired, and amused, and don’t miss the chance to take in this collection of unique tales.
The Remarkable Characters of Tunbridge Wells, book and exhibition, has been created by Anne Wagstaff, and the photographer Mark Wilkinson. Anne has interviewed each inspiring local individual, and given them a place for their story to be told, whilst Mark has captured them in beautiful and timeless photographs. Some stories are incredibly moving, and some will surprise and delight, as the creators shine a light on some of the people in this historic and popular family town.
All of the profits from the sale of the book will be donated to Fegans. Donations help us help children and families every day in the South East. To purchase the book online, click here.

This project is a wonderful way to discover both known, and unknown stories of our local talents and neighbours. For Fegans it’s also a great opportunity to voice our belief that everyone is remarkable in their own way. As a Christian charity we celebrate individuals and all they have to offer, and give a voice to the stories they have to tell. By sharing a picture, a story, or that of a loved one, we can all have the chance to shine. Share your ‘Remarkable’ story online with us, search ‘Fegans Charity’ on social media, tag us, or use the hashtag #weareallremarkable, to get involved.
