Father thank you for your steadfast love, it never changes. We pray for families and friends who are struggling. Please would you be all that they need, strengthen relationships and bring peace where there are difficulties. We see around us and in the news, increasing numbers of heartbreak in our nation. We want to change the atmosphere and so we ask you to increase our capacity, that we can be ready and able to help.
We know that resources are stretched and budgets insufficient for mental health and support services so we look to you ‘Jehovah Jireh’ (Genesis 22) to be provider of all that we need so we can do the work you have called us to. Would you grant wisdom to those who are in decision making positions to be merciful, opening their eyes to see the areas where funding is needed most. Lord you are faithful, your compassion never fails and your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3 v 22).
We thank you for our founder James Fegan who started our charity in 1870. Today his descendants are still involved in supporting children and families, we thank you for them and ask for your continued blessings on them. Like James our eyes remain fixed on you and we ask that you equip and help us to serve the communities we are placed in. The need for our services is ever growing and we find ourselves being invited into new areas, to bring hope where there is difficulty. Often the situations we are called to are tough and so we ask that you would give us your heart for the situations we find ourselves in.
We pray that you would look after operational finances as we commit to help more people in new locations. You are no man’s debtor and we know nothing is impossible for you.
Father thank you for another school year and ‘new beginnings’. A first day at school for some children and a big change of class or school for others. May you be their guide, directing their footsteps as they walk these new paths. Please give them peace, help them to settle in quickly and to make healthy friendships. For those who are struggling and needing support please show them someone they could talk to and the courage to ask for guidance.
We remember those who are lonely and isolated and we ask that you put people around them who would be able to include and encourage them. Help families, in the busy school week to find quality time to spend with each other.
