FEGANS IS PLEASED
to offer training on a number of topics in which we have expertise. Our
training is suitable for individual parents, carers, schools staff or
anyone who would like to improve their skills with children. Training
may be for a couple of hours, a whole day workshop, or a series of sessions
over several weeks. Some of our course titles are indicated below. We
are able to adapt our courses to meet individual needs and situations.
We are also happy to consider invitations to share a training platform
with others covering a range of related topics for either a Christian
or secular audience.
Basic Counselling
We offer a 50 hour basic counselling course at a location to suit you
within Kent, East Sussex or south London. The course is aimed particularly
at Christians and involves theory, practice and individual work. The course
is person-centred.
Listening to Children
This course includes theory and experiential work and is particularly
designed for people working with primary-aged children. The course will
run for one and a half days (10am – 3pm and 10am – 1pm) for
a maximum of 12 people.
Children and Grief
A one day course (10am – 3pm) looking at how children cope with
grief. It looks at stages of grief and how to cope with a child’s
reactions to grief. Maximum 12 people.
Building Self Esteem in Children
This is also a one day course (10am – 3pm) looking at how and where
we get our self-esteem, and how we can enable children to grow in this
area. Maximum 12 people.
Buddies
“Buddies” is a scheme operated by some schools to facilitate
older pupils becoming mentors to younger pupils. Fegans is able to provide
this training in Tunbridge Wells.

Counselling Supervision
Some of Fegans counselling staff are also trained and accredited as Counselling Supervisors.
As well as undertaking supervision of our own counsellors, we are able to offer counselling supervision to individual counsellors and other agencies. This service is currently available in Tunbridge Wells and Heathfield.
