How Do We Raise our Funds? Fegans income arises from a number of differing sources. Some of our services are ‘sold’, for example, to Social Services Departments; fees are charged towards the cost of child care places; and counselling clients are encouraged to contribute towards the cost of their sessions. This enables us to help more people. Grants, and income from capital previously invested, provide another source of funds. It is our policy to provide the help and facilities we offer to any who require them regardless of their ability to meet the realistic cost. Concessionary fees may be negotiated where possible but much of our work, particularly that with children, does not generate any income. It is often at times of crisis that a family is least able to afford additional expense. For this reason we are reliant on individuals and churches for their support to maintain and develop our existing work, and also to pursue new opportunities to extend that work into other areas of real need. We operate an equal opportunities policy towards children and families, and we welcome any in need regardless of background, ethnic origin, gender, ability, political allegiance or faith. Fegans has a clear policy towards fundraising. We do not seek to raise monies from sources associated with the National Lottery, from raffles or by a barrage of appeals. We are able to testify to God's faithfulness over the years, and are content to run our work according to His provision. Your giving is a matter between you and God, and we are grateful for it however small or large it is. Tax payers can maximise their gifts by giving under the Gift Aid or Give as you Earn Schemes. Gift Aid Under the Inland Revenue's Gift Aid Scheme, Fegans is entitled to reclaim the tax on gifts by UK taxpayers. This means that your gift can increase by nearly a third if you are a UK taxpayer. For example, if you give £10, the taxman will add £2.82, giving a total of £12.82. If you would like to support us through the Gift Aid Scheme, please contact us and we will send you details. Legacies If you are considering making a Will, or changing an existing one, we would ask you to consider helping us to continue our work by leaving a legacy to Fegans. We recommend that you talk to your solicitor when considering your Will. We will gladly supply further general information and/or suggested wording to be included in your Will or in a Codicil if you wish to vary a Will that is already written. If we can help in any way, or you would like to discuss leaving a legacy to Fegans, please write, telephone or contact us. Payroll Giving (Give as you Earn) If you would like to donate on a regular basis, and are employed, you may wish to consider Payroll Giving. Give As You Earn is a payroll giving scheme administered by CAF (Charities Aid Foundation). Giving direct from your payroll is very simple. You can give as much as you like and donations are tax free PLUS, until April 2004, the Government will aid an extra 10% to all donations made through the payroll.
